What an engagement actually looks like
Most work begins with a short discovery call and a request for whatever documentation already exists. We read it honestly, including its gaps. From there we run a structured survey of the live environment, interviewing the people who operate it day to day. Operators know where the shortcuts live, and those shortcuts are usually where risk hides.
We then produce a findings document that separates observations from recommendations. Observations state what we saw and how we confirmed it. Recommendations state what we would change, in what order, and what each change is expected to buy you. This separation matters because it lets your team disagree with our priorities without discarding our facts.
Implementation support follows if you want it. We can work alongside your engineers, review their pull requests against the design, or stand up a staging environment with them. We are equally comfortable handing over a plan and stepping back. The choice is yours, and it does not change the rigor of the plan.
We close every engagement with a station check: a short session where we walk your team through the architecture, confirm that every assumption is still true, and agree on the triggers that would mean the design needs revisiting. A plan without a review date is a plan that quietly rots.
